Jen, LMT

I go into every massage with a quiet and gentle presence and the intention to give my client the most relaxing and therapeutic massage possible.  I believe massage is a gift, and I love that I can spend my time sharing that with the world.

I have a background of almost 20 years as a Registered Nurse, and that experience has taught me kindness and empathy.  I spent much of that time working in an Emergency Department, and that has given me a good working knowledge of the body, along with the dysfunction that is created by trauma and illness.  It was many years into my career as a RN before I realized the power of human touch, and I decided I needed to learn more.  I took a leap of faith and poured myself into massage school.  I’ve been so glad that I did because it has allowed me to really do something I love, which is to help people feel better!

I believe the body remembers the trauma it lives, and often needs help releasing those traumas so that the tissue can heal itself.  I use my tools and knowledge to give massage in a slow and methodical way that creates a deep relaxation.  I believe that in that meditative state is where the body’s natural healing abilities are at peak awareness to respond to my healing touch and begin to fully heal so the body can move freely, and without pain.

I have been practicing for about 3 years as a LMT, and I specialize in a slow Swedish massage with either a focus on relaxation or a more corrective approach for trouble areas.  I also practice CranioSacral Therapy and will incorporate Reiki and energy techniques to clients who are receptive to that type of therapy.  I plan to offer lymphatic drainage soon.  I have learned to trust my hands and be fully present for however my client presents their needs for the day.
