Hope Poems and Quotes by Shawn White

Hope Poem: Everything is Going to be Okay

Soon you will be dancing and prancing and singing your favorite song. You will be spending time with your favorite person all day long. You will have a smile from ear to ear, and your heart won’t know even an ounce of fear. Instead, your voice will be filled with cheer. Your eyes will be bright and bold and wiser than you are old.

You will stand tall and firm, and everything you face throughout the day will be a piece of cake. Everything will be greater than okay, and even better than great. You will be a fiery star storming through the sky, lighting up the night with the brightness of your life. It will be amazing and magnificent, tremendous and spectacular.

Marvelous times are on their way, you will once again know how it feels to live in wonderful ways, because you will have the peace and ease to live a life that feels like a breeze.

Hope Poem: We all have Flaws

We all have flaws, weaknesses and illnesses that have brought us together. Truly some of our greatest relationships have been forged from the fact we cannot fix each other. This is because love transcends the finality of our flesh. It teaches us that we can always provide a compassionate shoulder, an understanding ear, and offer an honest answer. It reveals to use we can enrich each other’s lives, inspire others to reach higher, and become a triumphant spire in the sky.

Hope Poem: Hope is Majestic

Hope is majestic, magnificent and one of the greatest forces in the universe. It draws us together in times of great pain, when love is starting to flutter and fly, and when our life is bright and delightful.

Hope grants us the ability to do more than just cope, it inspires us to thrive, rise higher and soar through the sky. In times when our hope is low, we feel the doldrums of the day as we are drained by dismay. Thankfully hope is a long rope, so when it slips through our fingers, we can always grab it and hold it close.

When I was young, hope was an elusive and fleeting concept. Life was always dark and grim, even though I was prone to be jolly and act on a whim. When I was a youth, I wanted to be a good host, to encourage others to smile and be inspired, even though my heart hurt and felt like a burnt piece of toast.

This changed when I was diagnosed with cancer. It gave me the opportunity to fight for something real and meaningful. It opened my eyes, so I could witness the wonder and awe of existence. It was a hardship unlike anything I had ever endured, and it destroyed me, but it was a gift. Truly it was the third greatest blessing I have ever received.

Facing death cleansed my sight, it washed away the shallow darkness from my eyes and invited me to start living my life. I vowed to live with meaning, to leave behind a legacy, and inspire others to always have hope.

Tasting the cold chill of the reaper’s will, taught me that hope is not survival. It is making the most of our moments and spending our seconds with someone special.

Feeling endless agony, where seconds felt like hours taught me how to witness the magnificence of existence. It revealed to me that within every second is a snapshot of infinite beauty and awe.

Living life at the edge of existence taught me we always have time to live our life, to share our experiences, to forgive, to give love and to always have hope.

Hope Poem: Sandcastles

When building a new foundation, it must be made so it is maintainable. This is important, because the more complex we make our routines, the quicker they will begin to fall apart. When enacting meaningful change you will notice a pattern of failure. The things you have fixed will break, and once again you will fall prey to your wayward ways.
If you want your healthy habits to stay, you must take a breath and breathe. Witness the work you have accomplished, analyze why the pieces fell out of place, and tweak it so it remains in place next week.
There is an ebb and flow to how life goes. You may build a sandcastle at the edge of the beach, only to see the sea sweep it away into the deep. Just because your creation was lost to the ocean, it doesn’t mean you should stop building castles in the sand. Instead, you should try again, but this time you might build it further from the water.
In the modern world we have been trained to want and need instant gratification. We desire to feed the hungry maw of an ever-empty heart. With so many things at our fingertips we can receive with a flick of a finger, reaching for something of meaning often invites dismay. Achieving something of meaning is challenging, because it requires fortitude and endurance over many days.
If we want to sing a song or feel so invigorated we want to shout out loud about the meaningful things we have achieved, we need to learn how to manage our lives, so we aren’t swept away by the sea. We must learn from our mistakes, grow from our hardships and push forward.
If your heart is hurting, don’t wallow in the woe of the loss. Mourn it and move on. The ways we have been hurt and harmed become scars meant to remind us of where we have been, not to live in them.
Sure, your sandcastle may have been swept away, but there is no reason to live in the pain of that day. Instead, reflect on it, learn from your mistakes and build yourself to have better future days.

Hope Poem: Raise Each Other Higher

If you search for the sadness in every scene, you will find it. It will lead you to believe your sullen eyes are as bright and bold as the sun above. No matter how tightly you wear your winter coat the air will always feel cold, and in your misery you will be alone.

If you search for ways to add worry to other people’s words, you will never taste the sweetness of their tongue. Everything they say will be bitter and bland, and the value of their message will be labeled as a barren land.

Living a life of strife and scorn is a helm no one should ever willingly adorn. It is heavy and cumbersome, and its visor tends to blind the eyes. Being unable to see the goodness in others is a frightful thing indeed, because it paints the world as stark and dire.

Let go of the fire inside your soul and allow that steam to escape. Release it so you may take a breath and breathe. Refrain from adding pain and misery to the world with impulsive words, think before you speak, and seek out ways to enrich others without reducing them.

The world is already unreasonably rough, lets seek to inspire and raise each other higher. There is no reason to sand against the grain, because there are so many wonderful ways we can uplift each other, every day.
