Love Poem: Love is the Brilliance of God

Love is the selfless and abundant action of giving to another, not to be served by others. It is humble, kind and is offered without expectation of a return, because it is not a transaction. It cannot be bought, demanded or expected as a tax. It cannot be experienced when we draw inwardly, it cannot be felt when we put ourselves first, celebrate ourselves as deities, or put our wants before other people’s needs. Love is selfless, disciplined and gentle, even when it must be firm. It can never be born from haughtiness, selfishness or obsession. Love is pure, good and great. It transforms dark days by filling their hollow hole with light, it allows us to feel the brilliance and grace of God and experience the delightfulness of life.
